“Hey, Ryo-chan.” Jin pointed at a specific fish in the aquarium. “You know what that is?”
Ryo smiled brightly. “I have no idea.”
“That's because you are a little idiot.” Jin grinned, meaning it as a joke.
“You think I'm stupid?” Ryo asked in shock.
“No babe.” Jin smiled warmly. He looked around a bit, stroking over Ryo's arm lovingly when he realized that no one was around them. “I was just kidding.” He grinned. “If anything I'm the stupid here.”
Ryo tilted his head a bit, looking at the other thoughtfully. Then he giggled. “True.”
“Hey!” Jin complained, smacking the other slightly. Then he smiled contently. This here was just gorgeous. Being at this place with Ryo... it was just perfect.
“Wow, that’s rare…” Tegoshi mumbled when he sat down next to Jin.
“I know.” Jin admitted half-heartedly. He had never got along well with Tegoshi, but this here was a special situation after all. “I would have brought someone else along, but I need to talk to you alone…”
Tegoshi leaned back a bit, really trying hard to hide his curiosity. “So…?” he asked when Jin didn’t say anything.
Jin sighed a bit, brushing through his hair nervously, then he looked up again. “What do you know about Ryo?”
“Eh?” Tegoshi blinked.
“What do you know about him? I know he always liked you a lot… So…what do you know?”
Tegoshi looked at the older one in surprise, shifting around a bit. He didn’t understand at all what was going on here. “Did something happen?”
“Maybe.” Jin admitted carefully. “But I can’t tell you any details. I need your help though.”
“Out of all people…you are asking ME for help.” Tegoshi mumbled, but he didn’t sound amused or superior at all. “I’m not sure what you want me to say…”
“What comes to your mind? Tell me whatever you feel…” Jin told the younger one. “Something I don’t know yet.”
Tegoshi sighed. “You know that this is a difficult question? You for sure know a lot about him…”
“There have to be things I don’t know.” Jin tried to explain, looking at Tegoshi curiously. “Why are you two getting along so well?”
Tegoshi tilted his head a bit, looking up at the ceilings. “He cares for lost children… I guess.”
Jin blinked. “What?”
Tegoshi smiled warmly. “He likes those who are lost…like me for example. When I came to the agency, they almost immediately put me into News. I was totally lost. Not only there, but also in the whole agency, with my Senpais. He caught up on my feelings and cared for me. There is a reason why I admire him so much.”
Jin blinked at Tegoshi’s words, then he had to grin a bit. Tegoshi was right. Ryo was the type of guy who sometimes seemed to be unfriendly and rough from outside, but was caring and soft in reality. He just felt embarrassed to show it. But then… there were persons, like Tegoshi, who apparently triggered something in him that made it impossible for him to not care for them and spoil them openly. But why Tegoshi? “It makes sense… Just – and don’t get me wrong now – why you?”
Tegoshi shrugged helplessly. “I don’t understand it either. It’s not like Shige wasn’t equally lost at the beginning. But maybe I remembered him of something or someone.”
“I’m sure you triggered something inside him.” Jin mused. “Just what…”
“Akanishi-kun?” Tegoshi frowned. “What happened? Where is Ryo-kun? Did he leave? Is he missing or what?”
For a moment Jin winced. He hadn’t thought that Tegoshi would catch up that fast. This kid was quite smart, really.
“What?” Tegoshi’s eyes widened in shock for a moment. Since Ryo had left News he didn’t see him on every day basis anymore, but still…how could he missed something like that? “For real?”
Jin sighed deeply. “Please.” He begged. “Keep it a secret.”
Tegoshi sighed in frustration. “Just because I’m cute and chatty, it doesn’t mean I’m such a huge chatter-box. But…where is he?”
“I know, I’m worried too.” Jin explained tiredly. “But I can’t tell you everything, I’m sorry. Just… I feel like I need to understand more about him, to…” save us. “…find him.”
“You already checked at his parents’ place and his sister’s?”
“Of course.” Jin huffed. “I’m not stupid! I also called his brothers…”
“Ah.” Tegoshi made a dismissive gesture with his hand. “I don’t think he would ever go to them…”
“Eh?” Jin frowned. “Why?”
“He didn’t get along well with one of his brothers when he entered the agency. Maybe his brother was jealous… but well, he bullied him quite some time.” He paused. “I think Yokoyama-kun intervened then. Or Murakami-kun?” he shrugged. “Now they are getting along of course, but he is not the type who would forget such a thing easily…”
Jin leaned back in surprise. He hadn’t known anything about that! What had Tegoshi said before. A lost child? Was Ryo himself one? What if parts of Tegoshi’s character remembered Ryo of himself? They seemed so different, but there was a feeling around them…that actually made them fit each other.
this is not a love letter.
This is a desperate try to make you come back.
Where are you?
Idiot, why did you leave without telling me anything?
Come back. I love you.
Okay, so it's a love letter.
